The new profile is brought to you by the colours pale green and pale magenta. The song is by one of my favourite musicians Talvin Singh – his album "OK" is what got me into electronic music. Check out his page (he's in my buddy list) to hear some of his new stuff (you have to turn off the 'tape' then click on Standalone Player) – which is all pretty sick (especially the songs "i of a Bird" and "Seven notes')
The old page was inspired by the work of Super Flat artist Takashi Murakami. Basically the hypothesis of the movement is that WW2 and being nuked was so damaging to the Japanese psyche that they surround themselves in colourful-happy-cuteness as a way of forgetting and escaping – a form of negative reinforcement.
